RFID encompasses all contactless Radio Frequency IDentification technologies that use a reader to identify tags or smart labels. Unlike barcodes and QR codes, contactless solutions are invisible technologies. “RFID technology is used every day, whether on public transport, to badge in at the office or to start a car. Reduced manufacturing costs, miniaturization and data security have helped this technology thrive, with logistics, maintenance and asset management applications for industry,” explains Vincent Dupart, CEO of French manufacturer, STid.
STid was established in 1996 to protect strategic assets in businesses, including people, property and data. They are experts in contactless identification, designing access control solutions to streamline and simplify security management for businesses. “Our specialty is innovation. We are a French SME on an international market, competing with large international groups. Our selling point is our ability to design standout solutions with high added value.” In the past two years, STid has become the leading high-security access control manufacturer in France, providing asset protection to strategic companies such as Airbus, Dassault, LVMH, the CNES and European institutions.
With 700,000 readers securing tens of thousands of companies across the world, STid boasts an annual growth rate of 23% and has quadrupled its sales revenue in 4 years. It specializes in providing open technologies and user-friendly solutions to meet the changing needs of its clients. “We are currently developing STid Mobile ID® to make building access even easier. By creating a digital smartphone version of the traditional access card, we are improving security for businesses and making it more user-friendly. This helps employees to comply with the security policy in place,” explains Vincent Dupart.
STid is the first French manufacturer to receive ANSSI’s top-level security certification and has also won 7 awards at international events. With offices in Sydney, London, and more recently, New York, STid is pursuing its international growth while diversifying and offering services to improve security systems and tracking for businesses, industries and governments.
